Position Overview

We are seeking a driven, experienced Sales Manager to lead our boat dealership's sales operation. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who lives and breathes the marine lifestyle and knows how to build a team, close deals, and deliver an exceptional customer experience from first inquiry through sea trial and delivery.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in marine, luxury automotive, RV, or high-end recreational sales - along with the leadership presence to elevate the performance of everyone around them. Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Performance

Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales consultants to meet and exceed monthly and annual targets

Develop and refine sales processes, follow-up cadences, and customer engagement standards

Conduct regular one-on-ones, deal reviews, and training sessions covering product knowledge, sales technique, and CRM best practices

Set clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable with consistency and professionalism

Customer Experience

Own the customer journey from first inquiry through post-delivery follow-up

Handle escalated customer concerns promptly and professionally, turning friction into loyalty

Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and repeat clients, driving referral business

Ensure every interaction - in person, phone, or digital - reflects a premium brand standard

Inventory & Product Management

Manage new and pre-owned boat inventory including pricing strategy, floor display standards, and merchandising

Oversee coordination of sea trials, pre-delivery inspections, and on-water demonstrations

Partner with manufacturers and OEM reps to stay current on new models, features, factory programs, and seasonal promotions

Monitor turn rates and aging inventory; recommend adjustments to pricing or positioning as needed

Business Operations & Reporting

Track and analyze key sales metrics - units sold, gross margin, closing rate, lead response time - and adjust strategy accordingly

Collaborate with the marketing team on events, promotions, digital campaigns, and lead-generation initiatives

Ensure compliance with dealership policies, finance and insurance requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines

Assist ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly sales reporting

Represent the dealership at boat shows, demo days, and community events

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 3 5+ years of sales management experience in boating/marine, luxury automotive, RV, or high-end recreational products
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing sales teams
  • Strong command of the full sales cycle - lead generation through close - and CRM-driven pipeline management
  • Working knowledge of powerboats, marine engines, and on-water operations; ability to conduct or oversee sea trials
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across a diverse customer base
  • Availability to work weekends, peak seasonal hours, and dealership/boat show events as required
  • Valid driver's license required; USCG boating certification or Florida Safe Boating Certificate a plus
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, DMS systems, and standard business software
