The Placery: Bartender Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant Towne Centre Mount Pleasant, South Carolina Starting Pay: $14.00 per hour About Us Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is a 92-room hotel located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, just minutes from historic Charleston, area beaches, and some of the region's top shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations. We are seeking an energetic, personable, and service-oriented Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment where guests can relax, unwind, and enjoy quality food and beverages while receiving exceptional service. Whether serving a handcrafted cocktail, recommending a local favorite, or simply making conversation after a long day of travel, our Bartenders help create memorable experiences that keep guests coming back. Position Summary The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing exceptional guest service, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and applicable alcohol service laws. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, professional, and passionate about hospitality. Essential Functions Guest Services

• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Provide exceptional service while creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
• Build rapport with guests and provide recommendations on beverages and menu offerings.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally while ensuring guest satisfaction.

Beverage & Food Service

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and Hyatt standards.
• Prepare and serve food items available through The Placery menu.
• Verify guest age and ensure responsible alcohol service.
• Accurately process guest orders, payments, and transactions.
• Monitor guest consumption and follow all responsible beverage service practices.

Bar Operations

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, dining area, and back-of-house workspaces.
• Stock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, and supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.
• Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained.

Teamwork & Operations

• Work closely with Guest Services, Breakfast, Housekeeping, and Management to provide a seamless guest experience.
• Support hotel operations during busy periods when appropriate.
• Follow Hyatt brand standards, food safety procedures, and company policies.
• Assist with additional Food & Beverage responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

• Minimum age required by state law to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous bartending, restaurant, or hotel Food & Beverage experience.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and classic cocktails.
• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Responsible alcohol service certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Hyatt or hotel experience preferred.
